Walk With Me — I’ll Show You My Belize

Hi, I’m Alvin J. Brown — a licensed Belizean tour guide, father, storyteller, and local traveler. I grew up in Placencia back when the village still ran on diesel generators and kids pushed wheelbarrows to get ice from the harbor. Today, I live in San Ignacio, where I guide visitors through jungle trails, Maya ruins, and hidden rivers.

This blog is where I share personal stories, memories, and local insights that don’t always fit on my main tour site. It’s part journal, part travel guide — a space to invite you into the Belize I know from childhood to now.

🌿 My Journey

I’ve worked in Belize tourism since 2006 — first in digital marketing, then tour operations, and now as a licensed guide. From fixing phones in Belize City to building my homestead in the west, my path has always been about finding my place in Belize and sharing it with others.

Guiding isn’t just a job for me. It’s a way to stay connected to the land, the stories, and the people who make this country unforgettable.

🛶 What You’ll Find Here

  • Personal travel stories around Belize and nearby places like Cancun, Melchor, and Flores
  • Reflections from the road — places I’ve visited as both a local and a guide
  • Spanish-language content for South American travelers
  • Travel comparisons, tips, Creole phrases, and cultural snapshots
  • Links to tour pages, insider guides, and seasonal updates

🎒 Why It Matters

I believe in travel that’s personal, local, and real. Whether I’m walking a jungle trail or fishing with my kids like we did back in Placencia, I see these experiences as more than tours — they’re memories waiting to be shared.

If you’re curious about Belize beyond the brochures, you’re in the right place.
